Reading Around the World: Thailand

I keep forgetting to put these up before I travel.  I tell myself that I am going to but then, you know, life happens.  I am going to Thailand for a literacy summit so I have been collecting books about Thailand to read while I am there. I found a decent amount of Middle Grade and YA stuff but snarrowing down the nonfiction was pretty difficult.

When you do any amount of googling about Thai literature this book seems to constantly come up.  Either it is worth the hype or I am going to hate it.  I feel like I am going to have an extreme reaction. It is a collection of short stories so many a mixed bag?

This is another book that is consistently mentioned.  I have no idea what it is going to be about because why would that be?

Starred review from booklist and while the author is white her daughter is Thai.  I am going to give it a shot.

I am not 100% sure about this one.  Random white child left in Thailand to raise herself.  This could be problematic.  But also maybe good?  I am going to try it at least.
