I am a Holiday music addict. It is true. I am that person who buys three or four albums Every. Single. Year. I have in fact made a rule that I cannot listen to it in any month other than December. Because otherwise I find myself listening to it in July. Because I don't always have a traditional Christmas it helps me get into the holiday spirit. Otherwise, on the years we don't go home it feels like "The Year without Christmas" which is sad.
I am pretty picky about it now. I prefer that the songs aren't overly stylized but I also don't like it when they are too cookie cutter.
Today I am going to give you a rundown on my favorites.
by Leslie Odom Jr.
This is my very favorite album this year. There is something both relaxing and hypnotic about his voice. Also, kudos for the out of the box song choices.
By Idina Menzel
Why, yes I do like my Broadway stars singing Christmas carols at me. I love her voice.
A Pentatonix Christmas
Amazing acapella group. I am not ashamed to say that I have all of their holiday albums. Don't judge. Their version of "Hallelujah" is one of my favorites.
by Josh Groban

If you are going to listen to Holiday music then this is a must. The title track is particularly notable.
Wrapped In Red
By Kelly Clarkson
October 29, 2013
Good mix of songs. When I am choosing Holiday Albums I choose 100% based on how much I like the artist voice because most of the songs are going to be covers.
by Michael Bublé
October 21, 2011
Listen, when it comes to Holiday music I am not overly concerned about being cool. Michael Bublé sings like he is an escapee from the 1940"s and I love it.
a very merry perri christmas

Jazzy Holiday fun!
by Sarah McLachlan
October 17, 2006
Oh, man is her voice dreamy.
The Essential NOW That's What I Call Christmas
By Various artists
September 23, 2008
Want all the classic versions of Holiday songs but don't want to buy 57 different albums? This is the answer. It is the one stop shop for every Christmas song you expect to hear in December. Included are such artists as Ella Fitzgerald, Yoko, Ono, Gloria Estefan, and Boys II Men.

Ermahgerd, the Christmas Can-Can!
Christmas Eve And Other Stories
by Trans-Siberian Orchestra
October 15, 1996
One of my nephews is (was? he might be too cool this year) obsessed with the Trans-Siberian Orchestra so I have seen them live a few time with him. I think that this is their best album and Christmas/ Sarajevo 12/24 is my favorite song.
And Winter Came
November 11, 2008
I love this album so so much. It is Christmasy but not really and it is perfect to have in the background. I am pretty much playing it nonstop throughout December.
Christmas Portrait (Special Edition)
January 1, 1984
Guilty pleasure, here. But it is so happy and the piano is especially awesome. I am still not sure how I came across it but I am glad that I did.
Carol of the Bells
by Emmy Rossum
December 4, 2007
There are only three songs here but they are so beautiful. I would really like her to release another. How dare she be concentrating on an acting carreer!?
By Mariah Carey
November 1, 1994
A True Classic.
Peace On Earth
October 7, 2008
For the most part very classic Christmas carols were chosen with a couple lesser known ones that really make this album special.
Christmas In The Sand
By Colbie Caillat
October 22, 2012
i like the beachy feel of this album. It makes very familiar songs feel fresh and the new songs fit right into the theme.
The Gift of Christmas
by Chelsie Boyd
November 6, 2006
I don't normally listen to Christian music. And by normally I mean pretty much never. But I find that there isn't very much difference when it comes to Christmas Albums. They are almost all religious. Her voice is very sweet. My favorite song is "Mary, Did You Know".
Christmas Is The Time To Say I Love You
by Katharine McPhee
October 12, 2010
Like hot chocolate by the tree her voice makes everything warm and familiar. There were no risks taken with this album but I don't mind as I usually feel that Holiday albums are all about the voice.
Joy to the World
The Mormon Tabernacle Choir
October 25, 1990
This is the definitive version of the "Hallelujah Chorus" in my opinion.
Glee: The Music, The Christmas Album
November 16, 2010
Things that are embarrassing to admit. I own and listen to this. I may have stopped watching Glee after the second season but I still listen to this. I am not going to be letting it go anytime soon.
One Wish / The Holiday Album
By Whitney Houston
November 18, 2003
I never get tired of this.
Tchaikovsky: The Nutcracker
Orchestra of the Kirov Opera, St. Petersburg and Valery Gergiev
October 5, 1998
There are a lot of versions of "The Nutcracker" out there but this is my favorite. I am not musically talented enough to tell you why but I feel as if the playing is just better here.
The Classic Christmas Album
October 8, 2013
A concession to country. But only in December.
Home For The Holidays
by Darius Rucker
October 27, 2014
I don't often enjoy original Christmas songs but I love Candy Cane Christmas. He just sounds like he is happy.
